Rupert returned to Farlows in October 2023, having worked there previously between 1999-2002. He started fly fishing on the chalkstreams at the age of 12, after his Dad introduced him to it.

He has caught many salmon and sea trout throughout the UK, and large spring salmon on the Kola river, Russia.

His fly fishing highlight to date was taking off to New Zealand to fish for wild brown trout. He was given locations of remote rivers (on condition of secrecy), sometimes 50 miles down dusty tracks, to fish for skittish, large brown trout which were interspersed by about a kilometre. His largest was 10lbs caught on a dry fly.
