Matthew is currently a Master’s student at the Royal College of Music and works for Farlows part-time alongside his studies, sharing his passion for fishing and fieldsports with customers in our Pall Mall store.

Having grown up on a rural estate in Hampshire, Matthew has been involved with shooting and fishing for almost all of his life. He was first introduced to fly fishing at prep school in Winchester, but his interest was renewed after his family moved close to the famous River Test. Since that move, Matthew has relished the opportunity to fish for both trout and grayling and is looking to turn his hand to bass on the fly on the south coast in the near future.

Matthew has been fortunate enough to have had access to shooting for a number of years, as his father ran a walked-up shoot on a farm in the heart of the Candover Valley. His shooting interests encompass driven game, walked up days and wildfowling.
