It is an exceptionally practical, fully waterproof shooting coat that’s an essential part of men's shooting attire. For the hardened outdoor enthusiast it can also double up as a country coat. It comes in a variety of tweeds of different weights that are exclusively woven for Farlows in Hawick, Scottish Borders. All of our tweeds have a waterproof membrane drop liner to ensure the coat is 100% waterproof.

New for Autumn / Winter 2025 is the Downham tattersall tweed. Like thee Ettrick rust check tweed introduced last year, it's a robust tweed at 640g/m2 and the quality has long been a favourite tweed for the dedicated sports enthusiast. These tweeds use 100% wool from Cheviot sheep, and their yarns are renowned for their rich colour tones and hardy feel and unmatched performance. We designed this tweed to be incredibly hard working, whilst also being very understated but with a splash of colour in the dark rich reds. This makes it the perfect tweed for UK shooting.
Our Green Herringbone tweed is our core sporting tweed that we have produced for some time. At 500 g/m it’s a very understated, minimalist but luxurious tweed woven on a medium set herringbone. It’s the perfect all-rounder!
