The RIO Elite Integrated Scandi Outbound Short lines have a shorter head length, making them a perfect match for anglers using switch rods or double-handed rods under 13 feet in length. The line features a refined taper that makes it easy to handle in tight spaces while still delivering the same smooth load and tight-loop control needed to fish effectively on smaller rivers and when close to obstructions behind.

For 2026, the UK’s best-selling Salmon line has been upgraded with two new features. The first is that the shooting line is now RIO’s acclaimed Elite Metered Shooting Line, a shooting line that changes colour every 10 feet to improve distance control and judgement, and maintain consistent casting performance across sessions. In addition, we have bought out an alternative high-viz yellow version of the head for anglers who like to see their loops flying across the river and for instructors and photographers.

These lines are not designed to have sink tips added to, but work exceptionally well with floating, intermediate, and sinking VersiLeaders on the front end - when extra depth is required.
